Jailbreaking iPad 4.3.1 with RedSnow Steps:
Step 1: Restore your iPad to 4.3.1 using iTunes. Then run Redsnow 0.9.6rc9 for 4.3.1 untethered jailbreak and point it to the previously downloaded 4.3.1 IPSW file.
Step 2: Check "Install Cydia" and any other option that you might like and then click on "Next" to jailbreak iPad 4.3.1 with RedSnow.
Step 3: Turn off your iPad and connect it to your computer via USB, then click "Next". Follow the on screen instructions to enter DFU mode
Step 4: Once you enter DFU mode Redsnow 0.9.6rc9 for 4.3.1 untethered jailbreak will start automatically the jailbreak iPad 4.3.1 with RedSnow process.
Once Redsnow 0.9.6rc9 finishes, your iPad will reboot and you will have a fully jailbroken 4.3.1 firmware running on it.

Usually pretty good at this, but a little unsure.
iPhone4, currently on 4.3.3.
How do i get it up to JB untethered iOS 5. It currently only has SHSH blobs for all iOS 4 versions + iOS 5.1 (no untether in that one). Its a friends. Dont want to butcher it. Can i use tiny umbrella to somehow add a 5.0.1 blob?

I am old so please be patient I have an Iphone 4 with iOS 5.1.1----I've been all around trying to see how to jailbreak my phone..that is if I don't blow something up....but can I not jailbreak it because it's 5.1.1? It seems it stops at 5.1 and I don't know how to back mine up to that...if you can even do that. I think I've downloaded something onto my computer saying it was the redsnow but it was something called blekko and now I cannot get it off my computer..told ya I was old. Can someone please explain this to me. I know you get countless folks asking for this same thing but I'd be very thankful for someone to help me and tell me where I can get the software I need and then what to do Thanks so much.

There are guides explaining with download links. You can jailbreak tethered.
That means you'll have to connect to pc everyone you turn it off or reboot.
Have a look at my redsnow guide in my signature for info and download link.If my post was good, click the button in my post
