Default Determining your Model of iDevice
So, hopefully you know which model your iDevice is (iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad 1, etc). But maybe it's an older one you've had lying around, or maybe you got it from a friend or off the net and don't know the model. You can easily find out which device you have.

    iPhone

Check the back of your device, and read off the Model No: value.

Simply check your model number against the following table to see which device you're holding.

    • A1203 | iPhone 2G (2007)
    • A1241 | iPhone 3G (2008)
    • A1324 | iPhone 3G (China - 2009)
    • A1303 | iPhone 3GS (2009)
    • A1325 | iPhone 3GS (China - 2009)
    • A1332 | iPhone 4 (GSM - 2010)
    • A1349 | iPhone 4 (CDMA - 2011)
    • A1387 | iPhone 4S (GSM/CDMA - 2011)

    iPod touch

The original (1st generation) has no model number listed. The others we can check the Model No: value on the back of the device.

Simply check your model number against the following table to see which device you're holding.

    • No Model Listed | iPod touch (1st generation - 2007/2008)
    • A1288 | iPod touch (2nd generation - Sep 2008)
    • A1318 | iPod touch (3rd generation - Sep 2009)
    • A1367 | iPod touch (4th generation - Sep 2010)

    iPad

To determine the iPad model you have we can check the Model No: value on the back of the device.

Simply check your model number against the following table to see which device you're holding.

    • A1219 | iPad 1 (WiFi - Jan 2010)
    • A1337 | iPad 1 (WiFi/3G - Jan 2010)
    • A1395 | iPad 2 (WiFi - Mar 2011)
    • A1396 | iPad 2 (WiFi/GSM - Mar 2011)
    • A1397 | iPad 2 (WiFi/CDMA - Mar 2011)

    That's it!

First try holding the power and home button down at the same time for 10 seconds, this will usually reset the iphone but if that dont work then do this. Install Tinyumbrella and plug it in then once it sees it then click it and click "exit recovery mode" or "fix recovery mode". it worked for me so i hope it works for you

whoops meant to reply to the guy having the problem, sorry im new at this.
