I have read that you need to update via iTunes restore to 5.1.1 first which is a no brainier.
I am on a jb 4s iOS 5.0.1 my question is, is update via iTunes not an option?

I thought I could just update and then run Absinthe.
Is the update not option not jailbreakable?

I don't have any issue to download 5.1.1 and restore but I don't understand.

OK still out and was wondering if I can update my device (4s iOS 5.0.1) with the OTA option and then when I get home jb?
Or do I have to update with iTunes for the jb to work properly?

Buddy at work went from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1. OTA worked great jailbroke it at work after.

I can't even get Absinth to start -- i have it set to winxp compatibility, and right click - run as administrator and get "This application must be run as administrator" -- using Win 7 64 bit --- anyone?

Been trying to update via OTA for about a day now.
IT runs a bit then says it failed.

Is it because I am jailbroken on a iPH4s iOS 5.0.1?

Was hoping to update via OTA because I figured I wouldn't have to reinstall all my app's and music as I normally have to when I restore or update via iTunes.

Mine worked once OTA I would suggest just using iTunes.

Just click update in iTunes. It won't erase anything.

OK so the saga continues for me and my quest to get updated to 5.1.1 and jb...
I plugged my iPh4s into my iMac and in iTunes chose update (I'm on a jb 5.0.1) and got error message 1645.

Is it supposed to be this hard or am I just so lucky?
