you havent timed it just right, i have jailbroke 3 iphones now and i keep doing that, just have to rest the iphone on itunes and try again, (very frustrating) lol

I upgraded from OS 4.1 to 4.3.5. iTunes did not load my contacts, address book and emails. This info came from the OS 4.1 back and did not transfer them? How do I get this information?

Make sure you chose the correct backup file first, there are probably a few of them. If still nothing you can try juicephone or iphone backup extractor to see if you can get your stuff manually from one of your backups.

Tried upgrading from OS 4.1 to 5.0.1. All attempts failed. I was able to upgrade from OS 4.1 to 4.3.5. I still can't upgrade from 4.3.5 to OS 5.0.1. I have tried everything, including holding down shift key and directing it to the 5.0.1 file. Always fails. Looking for some assistance with this. Lastly, is there a 4.3.5 untethered jailbrake?

You need to be more specific with what is happening. What errors are you getting when trying to go to 5.0.1? What device do you have? Do you need to unlock or are you on official carrier.

No there is no untethered jailbreak for 4.3.5. But there is for 5.0.1.

I am having an issue with upgrading 3gs 4.3.5 to 5.0.1 as well. 1st, I used the guide on this thread and while it says "UNTETHERED JAILBREAK, meaning you can reboot your phone just like you normally would..." mine is tethered unless I've just missed something. I know 4.3.5 had probs finding an untethered JB. But when I turn my phone off manually I can't access cydia or safari, and I also got the msg at the end of the JB that it was tethered. Any ideas?

But really the only reason I was jailbreaking was to save my blobs so I could update to 5.0.1, but I get "error 21 unable to update.." I've poked around trying to find the answer for the better part of a day, but now I'm asking...help!

Whew, finally got 3GS on 4.3.5 with tethered JB to update to 5.0.1. I just wasn't in DFU mode, had the timing wrong. But it's smooth and snappy now! Thanks guys

iv upgraded to 5.0,1 from 4.3.3 iv and iphone4 but every time u use redsnow i get the error exploit failed im followin the instructions step by step plz help surely im not the only person in the iphone world thats gettin this error
im using the latest version of itunes aswell
