Default Very weak 4s wifi recepetion
I am having a wifi reception problem with a 4S. I get about 1 SSID in the same location that I usaually get 4 SSID's. You literally have to be within 20 feet of the router.

Anyhow this is what I've tried.
    1. Replaced bottom antenna on speaker (grounding fingers installed correctly)
    2. Replaced top antenna on earpiece
    3. Replaced wifi bracket over flex cable connectors
    4. Tried different combinations on that wifi bracket
    5. Cleaned all antenna connectors and metal to metal contact points with alcohol
    6. Different backs
    7. Restore

Only thing I haven't tried yet is replacing the connector that screws to the top screw of the 4S. Think that would help?

I think is a motherboard issue.

The top screw on the CDMA iPhone 4 and the 4S isn't like the top screw on a GSM iPhone 4 so replacing that shouldn't make any difference. I'm going to have to side with the others and say you wifi is bad because of a board related issue.

I was hoping that wasn't the issue. Anyone have any clues to what would need to be replaced on the board? Id probably need a hot air work station to probably replace the part though =\

You'll definitely need some abnormal equipment. If you don't have access to a hot air station it obviously wouldn't be worth it to buy one for just this. In the meantime I believe this is the wifi chip. If I'm wrong please let me know.

Yeah I figured that was it. There isnt any chance the camera has anything to do with wifi signal is there? I saw two gold metal teeth on the camera when I removed it. Those are probably just grounding teeth ??

Thanks for all the responses also
