    First Impressions
    Supplier: Howell Electronics

Not off to a good start.

The parts arrived and the first screen I grabbed out of the box had the plastic tab glued into the assembly, causing an ugly gap up top. Also was not fully sealed on the bottom. More on that soon.

3 more of the 13 screens had ugly gaps and were not fully sealed. This also happened on 2 of the black screens but isn't visible, so I only complained about the white ones.

The supplier was more than helpful with refunding though. These fronts were immediately fully refunded, and will be shipped back with my next batch of LCD recycles.

I'll be installing the rest and seeing how it goes. I've already installed one but have yet to compare to an OEM screen. No rainbow pressing issues, and the screen works great.

    More to come!

Any luck with those screens? I'm looking to get back into doing repairs and would love a local place to get screens. I have about 40 cracked screens I need to get rid of. Found a local guy offering to fix my broken screens for $12 each and he turned out to be one of the flakiest people I have ever dealt with.

Whoever you choose to buy screen from, my experience is it's best to choose someone in your own country and who has a returns policy.

Forget about your invoiced price buying cheaper from China.

Here's a great question to everyone who buys screens directly from China.

How many times have you returned the defective screens back to China for credit? <----I'll answer for everyone. Less than 10% (being generous) actually make RMA's back to China probably because of reverse logistics costs and time/effort.

Not to mention you have customs who might not be nice sometimes to you and the time to get the parts to you is 1/3 from domestic compared to international. Instead of having my $ out for 2 weeks while their inbound from China-Town, I order herein USA and they're here within 1-2 days. My cash flow is much better and I'll actually return bad screens here in the USA.

"Total Cost" factoring in these items as well as you're time has taught me to buy from companies with a "fair" price that can follow through on fast shipping and have a strong warranty policy.

Please keep your question to one thread. All of us in here are going to be looking at the same threads so it is not necessary to have multiple posts with the same question.
