I just converted an iphone 5 to gold housing (original screen and parts, only the aluminium shell was changed), and I have noticed a large drop in the wifi signal. The cellular reception itself has not really changed much, but only the wifi is terrible. I have obviously tried multiple restores and hard resets, but no success!
Another thing I've tried are sanding off the anodising on the sections to mimic the original's inserts.
Any ideas would be appreciated

Hmm I was thinking it may be something different since my cellular reception had no issues but only wifi was low.
What is the function of the ground inserts, and how do they play with the signal? Sorry I'm not great with circuit knowledge!

I think he's referring to the silver piece that the wifi wire sits in while it's in the case. Has a notch in it so keep itself in one place. No pics right now to help lol
