I'm having serious trouble trying to separate IPhone 4 LCD and Digitizer, I've broken two trying. Only using iPhone 4 to practice before I attempt my iPhone 5. Anyone willing to give me a few tips over PM. Would be willing to pay small fee if necessary. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply, I tried one white and one black but broke both. How are you guys holding the screen when separating?
Is the black Iphone 5 glass as hard as the black iPhone 4 to separate? If it is I'm screwed because my iPhone 5 is black.

I am laying it flat lcd side and taking guitar wire to separate. I havent done a 5 yet because its an expensive lesson

That's what I tried only using some .14 mm metal wire I got online but it keeps snapping then the LCD cracks. Could it be that I'm not heating it enough?

The iPhone 5 is totally different for separating. It's a lot easier.
For the white iPhone 4/4S, you just gotta heat heat heat. And be very very careful. I don't use the wire for it but I probably should. For the 5, a razor blade is fine.

Glass only repair on any newer device gs3 note 2 and iphone 5 are definitely possible. They are a gamble and it really changes depending on how the cracks are. I would say ( and i feel lucky ) i get about 60% of em done and feel really good the rest have issues or minor blemishes that are bad enough to require a new assembly.
I suggest using Fine beading wire. Works great and can be reused.
If its just a single crack or two I suggest (especially with phones like note 2) heating it up and getting something on each corner like a guitar pick or two. Then adding light head as you push them towards each other that allows the glass to more naturally pull itself off and works alot better with the wire.
