Default Iphone 4S screen died after being dropped
I dropped my iphone 4S while in a case, it worked fine for a couple days and then the screen just died completely. It still connects to the computer but when connected to the computer its telling me to restore it. Any ideas of what happened. It is out of warranty so looking for alternative fix besides apple. Thanks

When you dropped it the LCD connections may have came loose. Take apart your phone and check the two LCD connections.

Have you tried hard resetting it yet?

Like iRevival said, try a hard reset first, (Home button and sleep wake button for 15 seconds) if that does not work try reseating the LCD and digitizer cables. If that doesn't work then you may need a new lcd assembly.

Yeah I took it apart and checked all the connections. I did try a hard reset to but it gets stuck and the verification stage for a while in itunes and then gives me 1602 error.

That's not a hard reset.. If you are restoring through iTunes.

I've seen them die before on a drop like this.

Yeah I tried a Hard Reset and DFU Mode. Nothing works so it sounds to me like the actual LCD connect is cracked at one of the solder joints.

Dude. Does the screen even turn on go in a dark room all lights off connect it to charger and see if it turn on even if the screen is black it can still have a really low backlight u can't see. If so get a new screen on eBay around 20$ cheap Af go to an iPhone repair guy have him replace it for you and bam your phone works easy as that. You just fuc*ed your phone up from dropping it. And if ur phone still is stuck in recover mode use tiny umbrella to kick it out and then your good. Simple as that. Also if it doesn't want to restore use redsn0w newest version to restore. Go to extras then click restore choose your ipsw file. You have to download that and place it on your desktop or folder then direct redsn0w to that file and bam no errors in restoring and your phone is fixed.
