Default No power iPhone 4 CDMA
Ok, asking this cause there's a lot of us here lol. A customer of mine brought her phone to me after her daughter chewed on the bottom. Wouldn't charge. I replaced the charge port with a new one and I got the charging screen to come up. Awesome. Finished putting the phone back together but after it would not show me that it was charging anymore. Removed the battery and plugged it in and it started to boot up. So I put a brad new battery in and plugged it in. Nothing. Took the battery out of my old 4 which had a charge on it but the phone still won't turn on. Also, by this time it wont turn on with or without the battery now. Just finished scrubbing the board down. Can't see anything wrong on it but it was a good suggestion from our very own Cowboy. Anybody have any other thoughts?

Sounds to me like a grounding/short issue almost? You've replaced the two main components for the battery aspect of charging.

I'm thinking the same thing josh. I hooked up another charge port, brand new as well, and I'm getting the charging screen again. I took it apart again and noticed a bit of corrosion on the home button flex so I'm replacing that as well. We'll see what happens.

OK, so this time I let the phone charge for awhile. The last percent I remember seeing was 25% before just now noticing the phone has powered down and is completely unresponsive. Any thoughts?

Water damage possibly? Sounds almost like it's overheating at this point, gets to the point of charging, then crashes. Something happened to it more than what they told you, unless the daughter was drooling like a rabid dog and it just poured into the charging port while turned on.

Doesn't make sense regardless. Only thing left is the logic board really, which at that point we all know it's a lost cause.

I can agree that they must not be giving me the full story, but the water damage internally was almost unnoticeable. I almost missed it until I came back to the charging port for a better look. It's definitely not overheating either. I was checking that every couple minutes just to make sure. At any rate I'm just going to let the customer know its DOA and have them come pick it up.

Yeah that sucks man, I've had a few like that before. They leave out crucial parts of the story, or they don't know the full story.
