problem installing colored lcd

i have tried installing 2 colored lcd one on a 4(GSM) and on a 4s. on both conversion i have managed to mess up the home button. for the home button to work you have to press extremely hard and it is very annoying. i have tried recalibrating the home button but i think it is a hardware problem. i have also yet to find a video show how to replace the home button, which is quite annoying!

For the 4S, did you switch over the little metal plate on the back of the original home button? You need that for it to work right. For the 4, You may have everything screwed in too tight. I'd try either loosening the screws a bit or remove the adhesive that holds the screen around the home button. That's worked for me a few times.
