iPhone 3GS screen really dim.

Hi all I've read on different sites about screens being very dim - I wanted to hear your opinion.

Ok my sister asked me to look at her iPhone she said it was working fine one min then next not at all. I connected it to iTunes - recognized.
So I changed the screen. Now all I see is a very dim screen with everything working??

I've changed the brightness in settings - same
I've done a restore-same

Any ideas?

There's actually lots of people with this issue. Try turning auto brightness off and then rebooting the iPhone, it's been said to solve this issue.

Yer I've noticed it's quite common!!
Ok tried the brightness trick that is mentioned above-still no joy!

+1 I just had a customer in last week with this issue. Although hopefully you dont have the same issue as he did. I burnt the LCD backlight in 3 good LCD's before realizing he must have had something wrong with his logic board.

Thanks irevival so u think it may be the logic board. I tried my wife's screen and digitiser and it was the same! Ok it must be the board!! Away to eBay it is then! Cheers all

When you plugged your wife's back in does her backlight still work? The 3 I tested for the customer ended up being a waste afterwards.

It didn't but then I restored the wife's phone and it worked fine.
I bought the cheap screens from eBay.?? Then again it wouldn't matter coz the wife's was exactly the same!

Could very well be the backlight circuit, consist of a 6R8 coil and IC. Hopefully this is not the issue but one that is not rare either.
