    Default iPhone Color Swap
    Hey Guys,

I purchased one of those iPhone Color Swap conversion kits and I have a question... The home screen seems stiff and does not spring back as easy as the original... Anyone else have this same problem with any of the screens you've purchased and if so, does anyone have a solution on how to fix this problem... Thanks.

My case I got is a lifeproof and it does the same thing. As long as it works good I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah, but that's a case... This is a screen replacement...

What do you mean it is stiff? Is it sluggish or slower than it used to be. If so a hard reset should fix that issue as long as your iPhone is packed full.

Meaning when I push down on it, it doesn't go down... When you press the home button it goes down, makes contact, and then springs back up, just like if you double clicked on the home screeen... Well, I can't single click, double click or anything it just sits there and I have to put pressure on it for it to make contact...

I assume you are talking about the home button. Contact the person you bought it from and get a new home button. There's a chance it is slightly too big and not pressing enough. Either that or you knocked the little "bump" off of the actual home button flex cable. If thats the case there are a few creative ways to get around that. I have personally superglued a very tiny (and I mean tiny) piece of plastic to the bottom of it to replicate what used to be there. Works wonders. Matter of fact the phone I did that too had the best feeling home button I've ever pressed lol.

    Hey iRevival,

I noticed something... If I were to put the home button on without the sticky grommet that holds it in place then it works perfect but that would have it spin around unless i use double sided tape... But if I use the sticky grommet, then it doesnt allow it to make contact for some reason... Hmmmm... And i put a small piece of thin plastic behind it and its to stiff still...

Ahhhh, I think i solved it... I placed a small piece of double sided tape on the home buttons contact so that when I place the screen back on it sticks to it and keeps it together... Works great now... At least better... Lol

I didn't realize you were on a 4S. Did you transfer the metal piece to the new home button from the old one?

Also I've noticed on some 4S color conversion kits, the home button they give you is actually for a regular 4. Most of the time I never have a problem but the molding is ever so slightly different with the buttons that it can cause this to happen.

+1. This happens quite frequently. It is just recently that I've been getting 4S buttons with the color kits.
