Default swapping out my iphone 3GS 16gb motherboard for a 32gb one
ok so when i did this and then turned my phone back on, restored it from a back up (5.1.1) and put the sim in, it couldnt get a connection, it just kept searching, eventually it would get a signal for 5 minutes then it would just search again. After a lot of trial and error (changing IOS versions and modem firmware) it still would say searching. But when i put the 16gb motherboard back in, the signal is fine. Does that mean the 32gb has a damaged antenna connector, or is it anything to do with the dock connector part of the phone? any suggestions in general would be appreciated, thanks.

Sounds like the logic board has something wrong with it. Have you tried cleaning the connectors on the 32gb board?

I normally use a soft toothbrush or Q-Tip with some really high percentage alcohol. 99% alcohol, nothing lower.

Also, Make sure you are getting a good connection there. I have had trouble in the past with things not plugging in good when using other parts. Your antenna is the number 6 or 7 connector (I can't remember exactly which one) if you are still using the parts that are numbered.
