    Unhappy Dead iphone 4 (GSM)
long story and seeing a lot of people have had this problem i have to ask about it
so was using my iPhone one day set it down for five mins came back and phone went completely unresponsive
have literally tried everything I've seen from googling I've tried the home button and power button presses left it on a charger for 24hrs left it unplugged for 24 hrs tried dfu restore and still nothing but a black screen

i can get the phone into dfu mode but can't restore iTunes hangs at preparing iPhone for restore
tried redsnow to rejailbreak it or just boot tethered both get stuck at uploading first stage

so i believe this is a hardware problem so did a battery pull and plugged it back in nothing
but i noticed that when the iPhone has the battery out it acts the same way it does with it in the only difference is when i put it into dfu mode with no battery and unplug it i have to restart the process when i plug it back in

does it sound like a battery issue?
also read online that there are fuses on the logic board but never found a diagram of their location to test with a multimeter

and worst of all can't take it to apple because i converted it to an all clear case about a year ago

sorry for the long post just want my phone back alive and thx for reading

Ok, quick thing... You can get it into DFU with the battery in you say...

If you try sn0wbreeze (for example) & use the ireb function in that to pwned DFU it... Can you then use itunes to do a manual restore? For an example a no BB Ipsw?

Unplugging the battery and putting it into DFU mode probably wont work. Plus when you disconnect the charger the reason you have to restart the process is because you killed all the power.

When you get it into the pwned DFU mode are you running redsn0w/sn0wbreeze in Administrator mode (assuming you're on a PC)? Also, have you tried changing your hosts file to cydia's servers? That may be the issue with the 1600 error. Finally, what firmware are you trying to restore to? 5.1.1 is the only one being signed right now so anything else you'll have issues with. Also, is itunes up to date?

Ok, done with the questions. I'll wait for your response lol.

OK, so even with the battery out but plugged in it is stuck at the Apple logo? Or does it boot up to a plug into iTunes screen?

Did you have an tethered jailbreak?

Also, error 1600/1601 is a firmware mismatch.

    Hi

I'm Having exactly the same problem. My iPhone shut down during a phone call and remains Dead. I tried taking off the battery, for 30 sec. puching the sleep button and reconnecting the battery but nothing happened. it is still dead and It enters the DFU mode but restore gives the same 1600 and 1601 errors
