Drop iPhone 4 and crack screen pretty bad. No screen rotation doesn't work.

I know the screens are easy enough to replace, I have done them before. Earlier today I dropped my phone and cracked my screen a good one [See pic]. But just recently my phone's rotation sensor stopped working.

Are these related. Will replacing the LCD/Digitizer fix this or is there another component that will cause this?

I've seen worse lol. But your gyroscope would be on your motherboard and I doubt you damage it. Are you sure you didn't accidentally turn on your rotation lock? Double press the home button and swipe to the left in the multitasking bar to check.
