    Default Iphone 4 glass replacement
I cracked the screen on my Iphone 4. I ordered a replacement on Amazon that came with the tool kit to do the job. I removed the broken screen, put the new one in, re-assembled the phone and powered it on. That's when the problems started. The phone will boot up but when it gets done, the touch screen won't work. The lock button and home button work, but when it says "slide to unlock", it won't do anything. I tried putting the old broken one back on and am getting the same issue. Anybody have any ideas? I am stuck at this point with no clue. I have tried a couple of times redoing the process with both screens all with no success. Thanks for any info.

Make sure you check the flimsier cable. That's be your digitizer. Make sure it is seated well. If it is try cleaning it with some 99% alcohol. If that doesn't do the job let us know. Might have damaged the digitizer connector on the motherboard.

I tried taking it apart, cleaned the cable and connector but still have no ability to slide on the screen. Sounds like it might be bad things? What would I be looking at now? Is it possible that I have got the wrong screen? I have an I4. Could I have gotten a screen for an I4S? Would that do it?

Most likely one of two things,
    A. a faulty digitizer, or,
    B. Sometimes a restore can fix these things (Phone not accepting new hardware)

But, A. is the most likely answer,
Hit the thanks button if i helped in anyway

Agreed Kioes. You can't rule out the restore but in my experience the assembly is probably bad.
