Default iPhone 4 GSM Partially Torn Cable- do I need to replace?
While doing a combo power and sensor cable/dock connector repair (I tore the dock connector completely while peeling it back) I noticed a small half-tear to the black cable attached to the audio jack that connects to the logic board. Will this function in its current state or do I need to replace it?

    Here's the picture- http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...udiocable2.jpg

It's hard to tell where the tear is in that picture but if there is one then I'm going to say yes you'll have to replace the audio flex as well. But it looks like you're close to putting it back together. Why not just test it out before trying to replace?

Agreed. If it is, you will need to get it replaced.

I'm having a really hard time reassembling it, specifically the front-facing camera- I just can't get it and the retainer clip in the right spot. Do you know of any good mail-in repair services? I checked out iPhone Repair Miami Beach but I'd like to shop around a little.

Try Cowboy. IMO, if you can take it apart then you can reassemble it.

That's what I thought, then I spent almost an hour trying to get the front camera back into place- unsuccessfully.
