    what happened here?

my power button was broken, so I opened the phone, replaced it. I forgot to attach one of the ribbon cables but I started the phone normally, but it came up saying iphone was disabled, please try again in 8 years, opened up again, plugged cable back in.

Pretty stupid, so if the hardware in the iphone became faulty then it could disable itself?

I'll bet apple techs have a tool to undisable without restore
