iphone 3gs on ipad baseband troubles!!!!

Hi i'm wondering if anyone can help i have an iphone 3gs and i changed the baseband to the ipad 06.15.00 baseband because i was giving it to a mate who was on a different network, i told him not to update to 5.0 through itunes but he did and now all it says on the phone is no service. Is there anything i can do to get this phone working again??
The serial number is 5K1103ZA3NQ Model MC132B and the version is 5.0.1(9A405).
At 1st i couldn't get it past the activation screen but managed to do so and can only use it like an ipod touch.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi hun. He just needs to re-run redsn0w and reflash the ipad baseband

Is the phone jailbroken right now? If yes, run redsn0w 0.9.10b4 again and UNtick "install cydia" and TICK "Install ipad baseband" and the reinstall ultrasn0w.
