SERIOUS iPhone 4 Problems after installing KOGadget Light Mod
Hey guys,
I recently installed the KOGadget Light Mod onto my iPhone 4 GSM. After installing it, the light panel lit up fine, but there was no display on the screen, though I could see the backlight. I am guessing that the phone was still on because I could hit the silent rocker and the phone would vibrate. I tried holding home and power until the phone would reboot with the Apple logo, but the screen would never show up, I would only see the light panel from the mod come back on. Next, I had put the phone into DFU mode and restored it, but didn't fix anything. I left the phone off for a while and tried turning it on, but it wouldn't. I put it into the charger and later when I grabbed it, it was really hot on the motherboard side. If anyone could help me figure out what problem I am having and what caused it, I would be grateful. Thanks!

EDIT: I was able to redo all the connections and the phone turns on now, but it still has a black screen. I can make it vibrate by switching to silent and I am syncing it to my computer right now. The motherboard seems like it still heats up too.
it sounds like that little resister the light kit connects to is possibly dead or you may have some electrical arc'ing going on if the connections not good and tight, this would also cause heat build up. try removing the light kit completly to see what happens
Sorry I didn't mean to write the original post so confusingly, but the light panel works fine. After I had made the connections it worked perfectly, but the front screen didn't have any display on it, only a backlight. I've taken the panel out since I found out that the front screen wasn't working.
Once the iPhone heats up it seems to keep resetting, making it impossible for me to restore it.
