Dropped my iPhone
Cracked the screen and the LCD is totally white. Will replacing the LCD fix the white screen? Or is there more to it than just replacing the LCD? In other words is the screen white because the LCD is damaged or because something else is damaged making the screen completely white. I figured a broken LCD would be black or partially distorted and the entire screen is white. Just want to make sure before I buy a new LCD. Thanks all!

Either your LCD is broken or the connector on the logicboard is broken. If it's only the LCD, it's an easy fix (simple swap LCD+Digi.), if it's the logicboard then it's not all that easy to fix.

Buy a full set, digitizer and lcd, and watch a bunch of you tube tutorials before you do this. It it not hard, and not as expensive as letting someone do it for you. As far as the screws go, there is a website that has a screw chart available through a link on the techrestore web site so that you do not misplace or mis-replace the screws. Again, here youtube is your best friend. If you need help, let us know, and have fun learning.

Thanks! I've replaced the screen before, so I am pretty familiar and have the tools for the job. I just wanted to make sure it was in fact the LCD or if someone had an idea of it being something else before I spent the money on an LCD. Also, is there a good place you all recommend to buy an LCD for the 3G? Amazon and eBay have them pretty cheap (under 25 bucks) but some people say the brightness isn't anywhere near as bright as an OEM phone. I know they don't make replacement OEM iPhone parts (at least that's what I've been told and read), but I'd be willing to pay a little more if there was a better brand out there. Thanks again!

They're all the same if you ask me. It's not noticeable unless you're a perfectionist (past customer was like that).
