Misspelled "a"
Ok, simple stuff first. Model and size, make and year.
JK. On 3 and 3GS, remove the motherboard, and use the BACK end of a pencil (eraser) to clean the two metal contacts where the vibrator motor gets it's juice. On iphone 4 , try cleaning the copper connectors of the vibrator itself. Make sure the end rotates easily. Keep in touch.unklbyl

+1 on this and if it is an iPhone 4 (it seems so since you referenced headphone jack) then you can tell a faulty headphone jack by simple hitting silence switch up or down. If the bell shows up on the screen, your switch is fine and passing signal which means its either :
A) Bad vibrate motor, you replaced so out of the question
B) Something in the way of the vibrate motor, even the slightest misalignment can cause it to jam (sometimes the tape around the headphone jack can come loose and be in the way of the motor's motion. If you have a Verizon iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S then this will not apply.

Yea guys its an iphone 4, dont seem to have anything blocking the motor, as i cab spin it 360 manually.
The bell does come up when i switch it, and have checked the audio settings to ensure vibrating was activated, also done a complete restore incase the phone didnt agree with me takiing the motor out and re fitting

Here is a video, watch it to see if you're brave enough. Too bad you're in the US, could of had Cowboy service it.

Take it to Apple and plead for a new phone. Chances are they'll give you a refurb as long as they don't notice that you've opened up the phone.

[solved]
Hey guy I found a solution for you.
I had the same problem with my iPhone 4 and I tried right below solution, check it out.
First of all, I tried all the solutions for the iPhone written other websites but It didn't work properly. Weak vibration. I even changed the vibrator with new one, but it didn't work. I tried my old vibrator with the other iPhone of my wife, it works in there perfectly. I think something wrong with the connection area of the vibrator. Problem is the phone.
Then I decided to solve it by myself. I open back cover of iPhone and first removed battery then the vibrator. And check if there is anything stucking the vibrator head then try to remove the ringer button from inside, clean around, and put everything back like vibrator and the battery. Finally you good to go. Vibration working like new one.
All of this try worked for me. I hope it works for you too. Give it a try and feedback. Thanks, good luck.
