iPhone 4 microphone/voice call dont work! People cannot hear me

I got a iPhone 4 on iOS5, just started using after been given the phone free due to it being broken!

The problem is as follows:
- I can hear people they cant hear me
- Speaker phone does not change this for me
- Headphones dont work as a replacement for the microphone on calls
- Heaphones work for Voice Memo
- Viber, Skype, Heytell all work!
- Voice Memos record no problem and can hear back perfect!


Can anyone shed some light on the source of this problem cos want to get ordering on parts ASAP!

There are 2 noise cancelling microphones. One in the top by the headphone jack and one in the bottom by the charging port.

The top one is included with a replacement power, proximity flex cable. The bottom one is included in the charging assembly.

Both are pretty cheap to replace.

Just replaced the dock connector and still the exact same problems as above!

Can anyone help me?!?

Try a fresh restore.
Otherwise, if you put everything back together nicely, you can go to Apple and ask them to check it out.
