Random Reboots after battery replacement

I replaced my battery in my 3Gs running 4.2 unlocked on tmobile

and now my phone randomly reboots every few minutes.

Ive heard its a problem with the OS not excepting the new battery, and a restore would fix it, but if i restore my phone, ill lose my jailbreak and unlock, and im not sure how to unlock it again, or if i even can.

Any advice

EDIT: I just noticed it will not charge either, it shows the battery symbol as being charged, but its only at 83%, but itunes recognizes it and syncs with it, so its not the dock connector

EDIT2: I tried putting the old battery back in, and it works, so its obviously a problem with the new battery

Make sure and get a battery with the exact apn as your old one.

so im not sure what to do
