Speaking of tools. what's everyone using?

I have a set of Wiha drivers. They rock.
I'd like to get some metal spudgers. Any suggestions?

May have to look into those bulltproof. I'm using a set of "Best" screwdrivers. They are completely awesome and I even ordered 2 more sets to keep on hand because I like them so much. I just need a good flat head. As far as metal spudgers are concerned, I own a few of them. They are nice to keep around for a stubborn connector (like the LCD ribbon on iPod Touches) but I really don't use them often. I prefer the plastic ones. Sure they break, but they don't break anything else in the process lol.

Ok so I just finished my frame swap on my ip4 and its all put together but now the power button doesn't have the usual click and the phone won't power up because of it. Did I install something wrong?

Also, I plugged the phone into my computer, it turns on and everything is working except for my power button. I've looked at it multiple times but can't seem to figure it out.

Are you having the same issue with the volume buttons? There are little metal discs on the back of each button that probably didn't come with your frame that you need to transfer to the new buttons. They are a pain to switch but may be the reason for your issue.

Ok. Sounds like 1 of 3 things then.

    1. You put the screws in too tight on the power button. This actually happens pretty often to me and I just sit there and loosen/tighten until I find the right spot.

    2. You knocked off the little ball in the power button fled cable. There is a small ball that causes the button to depress. If that got knocked off then it won't press. Very common with older ones homes that have been used for awhile.

    3. You accidentally damaged the flex cable. Another highly possible scenario as they are delicate.

    I'd check the screws first.

ok i'm thinking its that ball you were talking about that goes on top of the cable. Does that mean I need a new cable?

And what would cause my iMessages not to work? I dont have cellular service right now seeing as im in Korea but ive been using my wifi to send imessages to my wife and now it just says waiting for activation

I've found that removing the button from the original screen is pointless unless you've got a new rubber liner to use with it. That's the only thing I hate about 4S. All of the kits I order typically have them, if you really wanted to, put a small piece of tape on each edge. I'd just buy a new rubber piece for it an be done with it.

Thanks for that mate, that's what I did as well as some new double sided sticky tape on the spacer itself. But I think a new one is in order, thanks dude

You can find them cheap on eBay or anywhere else I'm sure. I buy them 10 at a time so I know I've got plenty
