Hey all, stumbled on this thread and decided to sign up. Doing a build myself inspired by my car, should be pretty interesting . I'll post it here when I get it all done!

Thin pieces of cardboard behind each button.

I've fixed that issue by putting a tiny piece of cardboard behind the button to give it some extra length so the button stays where it's supposed to. Although I hate 3GS conversions and when I do them now I just buy the whole casing with all of the buttons preinstalled for this reason exactly.

Has anyone had any problems with signal issues on the iPhone 4S when using chrome or gold color kits. I have had two chrome and two gold iphone 4S here in the last few weeks with signal problems when I convert or to gold or chrome. It's only on the iPhone 4S and not the iPhone 4. iPhone 4 has no problem with this issue. I'm stuck. Thank guys!

I do the same thing! I hate 3G and 3GS conversions! Easier to just spend a couple more bucks and get it pre-assembled!

    Thanx Simon for your reply.

I have done a lot without issues aswell. But just here lately I had a lot lose signal. I'm not sure if I'm doing something Wrong or maybe the kits are bad?

I'm just confused on this issue.

Maybe a bad batch. I've done at least a dozen silver kits that I got from Pacific toy with no issues

Thank you for you reply itslivo!!!

I have done many from P.T. Without having any problems. Just here lately they have been bad I guess. I just got back from taking a chrome front off a 4S with one bar and put a red on. After that the phone had 5 bars.

    Just to be clear :-)
I'm not bad mouthing P.T. In anyway. I was just wondering and giving a heads up to everyone to check there chrome and gold kits. I have nothing against P.T.

    Happy repairing!!!

My first mod for my iphone 4, white home button, took me about an hour to do as it was the first time i took my phone apart, pretty proud of my self, being 17 and all haha, might buy a dark blue lcd to go with it.
