Fault with earpiece

Hey all

Im getting some trouble when it comes to my iphone 3G earpiece.

I am trying to make a good phone out of 2 faulty ones,
No.1- Wifi and earpiece wasn't working,
No.2- signal and screen wasn't working.

So I attached the digitiser from no.1 to the screen from no.2 and used the mainboard from no.1.

Housed in the rest of no.2

Confusing?

So now the wifi, signal, and screen are working but the earpiece is still not.

It rings when a call is made and you can hear if you have it on speaked.

If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it

From your description you have transferred all the earpiece components from #1, the iPhone with the earpiece problems to begin with. (Earpiece components, Logic Board circuitry plus connector #3, Flex #3, Earpiece itself) one of these parts is faulty. I would start with replacing Flex Cable #3, see if it works. While replacing Flex #3 make sure the #3 connector on the Logic Board is in perfect condition. While replacing #3 you can also check with volt meter for conductance through the Earpiece, if not it is bad.

Just switched the #3 cable back from the othe phone, same problem. Could the logic board have caused the problem?
