iPhone Signal Issue

I have searched everywhere for the past month to look for help but nothing has helped!! I have an unlocked and jailbroken iPhone 3gs with ios 4.3.3 on bb 6.15.00. When I put my simcard in, it gets full bars but the thing is, sometimes I can't text, call, receive texts and receive calls. And from time to time, it goes from 5 bars to No Signal (and i am in the same room btw)! I have downgraded the os and did a complete restore multiple times. Can this be a problem with the os and bb? or is it a hardware issue? Any response is appreciated, thanks!

Its more than likely because of the BB & JB my old ip4 used to do the same and so did my 3G both were unlocked. I've got one on official carrier now and it never happens. I used to have to toggle airplane on and off to "reset" it was a right pain. I could be wrong of course but that's just said from experience with a similar prob.
