    Default iphone 3gs bad lcd how can I check what firmware it has

    I got a 3gs with a bad lcd before I buy it I want to know what firmware it has what do i need to check ? the seller does not know ..other than itunes as they want to restore ... thanx!

    Download program TinyUmbrella. It will tell you which iPhone, firmware plus alot more.

    f0recast worked.. when i hook it it itunes it asks do i want to restore to may current firmware which is 4.0 can I do that because it has the latest Firm-W or will it update my current itunes and jackup what i have so,when i hook my 3gs up it will require an update ??

    Regardless what firmware you're on, if you don't have the SHSH saved for that particular firmware, you will NOT be able to restore back to it.

    If I'm not mistaken, you will be asked whether you want to sync up your device with iTunes. However, it will not force you to update your firmware, it will only only delete all content on your device (music, pictures, and videos) when you sync to a new computer.

    All that aside, the firmware doesn't have any relevance to the bad LCD.

    thanx I know it has zero to do with the LCD ... it was a matter if i was going to buy it, its useless to me either way as the foo updated it ..no big deal thanx
