A local repair shop here told me they can do a "restoration" of a water damaged phone. I don't know what that means exactly, but he explained they use chemicals and clean the parts.
I dropped my phone in a puddle of Glycol at work, and had the dock and home button replaced. But recently the logic board, right where the processor sits gets crazy hot when charging, and battery dies in a couple hours even with no use. I'm sure it's damaged beyond what wasn't so obvious.
What exactly do they do? I'd like to save the phone, I have the logic board out of it, but no idea what to do with it.
Any help is appreciated.

They wash it more or less with alcohol and with a magniying glass and a toothbrush wash the board
