Do I need screen or LCD repair?

Hey I was curious if anyone who is familiar with the screen fixing process could recommend a few comments to my particular situation.

I have an iPhone 3G (WHITE) that the front glass is shattered and even missing some of the glass on. The touch screen works just fine though...

If I was to share a photo with you, could you please recommend me what I need to replace the screen and have it working again? I see a lot of different parts (screen, lcd) for sale and am not sure what I really need.

If I had someone tell me what they believe the "fix" is I am sure I could just google where the best place to buy the replacement parts is / even find a guide for how to fix it.

If you can still see the screen (as in it still works) then all you need is the glass and digitizer. If the screen doesnt work the you need a LCD screen as well.
