someone must know the answer
hi everyone im a newb and i admit it.
Just bought a used 3g 16gb iPhone on 4.2.1 by the looks of it its had new inner and outer screens.....works more or less ok wifi touch screen makes and recieves calls and is locked on o2 (bummer)
but the big problem is that it has no sound on the device at all...unless you connect headphones its silent as the grave the mic works but no sound out put from the phone speaker or the loudspeaker.Ive checked the headphone socket and am certain its not stuck in headphone mode.....also vibrate doesent work..
seen loads of posts to this effect but no replies or soulutions.
its out of warranty and i doubt apple would give it the time of day

Sounds like hardware issue, I would try a restore and see if it fixes anything, if it still persists then it's a hardware issue

I would replace the midframe Wichita will include a new speaker and the replace the dock connector assembly. I did it on my old 3G when my ear speaker and my loudspeaker went out. as far as the vibrator goes you could replace it as well..
