Help iPhone volume

The volume on my phone keeps going up and down by itself. Plus now everytime I touch my screen the ringer icon stays on. It's a 3G and it's out of warranty. It's driving me crazy. Is there anything I can do??

I would check and see if maybe there is something stuck inbetween the switch or if the switch is going out which then you would just have to replace the cable.
