Finally someone did this!!! I have been having this idea for the longest. So is it true that using paint thinner on the inside of the housing makes it clear? Because if It does, I might think about upgrading to iphone 4. Paint the faceplate, and add leds to the back. But anyways that looks awesome!!!!!

Yup paint thinner works i had to let it sit fro about an hour and a half and it pretty much wiped away with a paper towel.
And thanks

Looks pretty good. I see it's a black frame. Are you going to get the red home button?

Nope keeping the button black. I am getting a black bezel for it as well

The black bezel will look sweet. It reminds me of my old Jordan's color.

Customized iPhone 4
Next time you get in touch with them: could you ask if they can procure the LCD+Digitizer assembly, separate from the front glass? Front glass would be even better blank (not printed).
If so, then the glass could be custom printed (or photo face-mounted) and the digitizer "fused" to it afterwards. With the help of a fixture and a drop of optical silicone, it's no big deal.
Sure, skins are the easiest way to get a custom look but they could never match the incredible contrast and vibrant colors of behind-thick-glass imagery.
