3G 3GS back cover help?

I have a prob, my lovely i3gs has just got two lovely sized cracks by the dock connector so was looking to replace the back but I have an old 3G that no longer works... toilet job, ... Would I be able to replace the back cover of my 3GS with the one off the 3G? Thanks in adv...

The text on the bottom on the housing will be a different color but they are interchangeable

Right they are the exact same thing just the 3GS has shiny lettering and a 3G has dowel lettering

Yep most definately I bought one like that off of craigslist and the owner was under the impression it was a 3G!!!
