    Default Accidently Broke Ribbon Flex...!
I was fiddling about with the headphone jack flex cable beneath the case for so long that I managed to tear the cable close to the mute on/off switch assembly.

I'm raging! I understand a new flex cable can cost 10 and it won't even include the home button or vibrate on/off switch, I don't have a clue how the heck I'd get them off the broken ribbon and on the the new one...SO I was hoping there was some way, ANY way I could repair the flex cable since it it only needs to be reconnected. Solder, stickytape, glue ANYTHING?

    What would you do?

If your saying it's a 3Gs headphone flex cable, then I would just order a replacement part and follow the online takeapart directions. Take your time and watch the video 5-10 times till you understand where everthing goes

It is easy to do, just be patient. The new ribbon comes with sticky tacky tape that you use to attach to the old buttons/switches. make sure you take your time and notate the direction and orientation of the ribbon. It gets confusing. Or leave it up to a professional to do.
