    Default 3GS won't turn on

I have a 16gb 3GS that is in mint shape physically but will not turn on or do anything. I have opened it up and checked the water markers, it hasn't been wet. iTunes does not recognize the phone or anything. I have checked the battery and it is good and taking a charge...anyone have any ideas??? Would really like to have this thing going again.

It is my sister's phone, she said it just shut off one day and that was it.

    It's just out of warranty.

I have tried to put in DFU, the computer never recognizes it.

How far out of warranty? If not far out of warranty Apple will sometimes still honor it.. They have for me a couple of times. But this was at an Apple Store. Not sure if they would if u mailed it to them. Call and see if there is no apple store close to u

She said it was probably only about a month past the warranty. I'm going to make an appointment with Apple tomorrow and see what they say. Thanks for the heads up
