08-02-2010, 01:42 PM #1Problems with new jailbroken iphone 4
So guys, first iphone first jailbreak, straight iphone virgin over here. N e wais, what happened was i downlaod and installed this gps app, from cydia called BTstsck GPS.
One i downlaoded it said run on sprinboard or sumthin. I think my iphone either crashed or resetted. And then it gave me thin green lines at the top iphone just one runnin across the screen when i got into the logo. it fades out in the middle but closer to the edges it appears.
Now, the situation is, i really dislike the sight of these lines, it give my once flawless iphone a sense of destruction. I have not used system restore yet, but is hopein not to take that route, im looking so far as to do so and use my manufacturer warranty.
The OS seems fine so far.

Mine did that too so I restored the phone and the lines are gone
I think it's from the actual jailbreak though

Its from the jailbreak. How often are you really going to look at that screen? Lol

My fear was from the lines spreading thats why I restored
Would they spread?
Cuz there only at the main logo screen for now

I highly doubt that. I think it's basically just a trace or an imprint left behind from the PDF exploit used. Think of it like this, the jailbreak caused the lines. So the only way for it to spread is to jailbreak twice, which is impossible once it's already jailbroken. And if the lines are removed after a restore, which would delete the jailbreak, I don't see anyway for them to spread.

I jailbroke a 3GS twice and the lines remained in the same place. I didn't see the lines before I re jailbroke. So no.

The lines are part of the jailbreak. It's fine and nothing is wrong with your phone. Even members of the dev team have tweeted about it being normal.

Guess I need to tweet a little more lol so I'll know
The lines won't damage the screen in the long run right
Sorry i ask so many questions I just don't wanna damage my new phone
Cuz I reboot quiet a bit for some reason and there only on the boot screen

it has to do with the jailbreak code, it's normal... probably later on it'll get fixed, it's not any dead pixels in your screen or anything, it's just there to annoy us, i guess.
