After digitizer repair problems

Hey guys!

just like to say i love this website and have been a longtime visitor searching and scouring these forums but this happens to be my first contribution to the glory! sorry if it is a bit dumb but i feel like i have looked for the answer before posting

a few days ago i dropped my Iphone 3g and cracked the screen WAHOO!!

i got the digitzer replacement and did the repair pretty smoothly or so i thought
the screen is completely black and i have absolutely no response from anything.

i tried reclipping the wires, many a times, to no avail.

i get no response from itunes (doesnt even show up) and no response from charger.

only time i get anything is a dfu restore but i get error 1601....


I'm miffed and stuck, some help would be lovely mates!

was it an OEM replacement digitizer? weird, if everything's correct, it should all work.

try putting it in recovery mode and then trying a restore in itunes...

im pretty sure it is OEM

as fas as the restore goes i have tried that many a times and it always returns w/ error #1601
i just dont get it

im going to get an apple store appointment and hope they are in a good mood

iF its still under warranty then going to Apple is a good option but if ur warranty is over then Apple charges more than $200 to replace the digitizer....i would recommend to look for some 3rd party iPhone Repair center....like 3GS Repair Center
