Yes, it's stuck in headphone mode. Solution-cut the endpiece off headphone plug and push the piece down the hole til snaps in.Done it's a permanent hardware hack. U won't be able to use the headphone Jack anymore.

However, u will be able to use ur phone normally.

Or I would try restoring before I did a permanent hardware hack that didn't allow me to use my headphone jack anymore

Restoring does not help. It is actually a hardware issue that would require full replacement of the power/sleep/vibrate and volume ribbon flex cable. My solution is the BEST permanent solution as apple will either charge $199 for fully new one or the trouble of taking your phone apart which is a high on the difficulty expert level for most people. Please Note: Spraying windex on a cue-tip and force pushing a headphone plug in and out to force it out of headphone is not a permanent fix.

So I think what im going to do,
Is start using it on speakerphone.

Because I use it for music,
and if I **** the headphone jack,
    I can kiss music goodbye

Yah I would use it on speakerphone before I permanently ruined the headphone jack...or just wait for Apple to release the new iPhone, it won't be too much longer. But replacing the headphone jack, on/off button and volume buttons is do-able. I have done it a couple of times but it definitely is tricky.

Speakerphone and the ringer will be the only sound functions u have. The text message sound, audio from YouTube and QuickTime and earpiece are gone. My method is the only permanent method.

Ivideocamera etc etc will not record audio while stuck in headphone mode

Yes it is but prior to doing that get a can of compressed air and spray it in the headphone jack bc most likely there is dirt stuck in it.

Go into a call and put your finger over the ear speaker and light sensor and see if the phone screen goes black...the speaker could just be blown or cable three could be damaged. If the screen goes black then the speaker is just blown but if the screen doesn't go black most likely cable three has come loose somehow inside your iPhone.

have you ever opened up the phone? take a set of ear buds and plug and unplug them multiple times, this can kick it out of headphone mode. its possible you got water into your ear speaker or your #3 ribbon is damaged as excel mentioned.

I agree with krazy and excel on the #3 ribbon and u have mentioned the UI sounds are working for text etc then you dont need to do the headphone jack hack. Its still a hardware issue and it will need to be taken apart to check the ribbon thats under the screen assembly. I recommend getting a bluetooth device to avoid taking your phone apart.
