Hi, I've had my iphone 3G for about 11 months now and 2 days ago it ran out of power. So I went to charge in my wall charger and left it overnight but it had not recharged at all.
I then plugged into the computer and iTunes wouldn't recognize it, I tried to do many restarts but whenever i would switch the phone on, it would show on the apple logo then switch off seconds later.
I then, manged to get it showing up on iTunes and it said it needed to be recovered. So I recovered it despite losing all my apps/sms messages.
But still when i try to turn it on it just goes on the apple logo and switches off about 2 seconds later.
It was a jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2 which I used Blackra1n for.

If it was dead, it probably still needs a charge. Sounds like you're having an issue with your dock connector cable. Try borrowing a friends...if that still doesnt work it could be the actual doc port in which you'd need to replace connector 4, and the dock piece. It's only impossible if you quit.

Try a new cable. If that fails and the phone is 11 months old, take it to the Apple Store
