    I found a pretty good scratch in my iPhone today and almost cried to fix this I need to replace what is called the "digitizer"?

    Reason I asked is 2g is very very hard to do without breaking the LCD. 3g and 3gs are at least possible, but it's still not just a simple swap. You have to pull the screen, be very careful with the connectors and flex cables, especially number 3. Then you remove the LCD. The hardest part is getting the digitizer off the frame, as it is attached with adhesive. There are tons of YouTube videos on this.

    You can also buy the assembly, which will make the process much easier

    or send it to someone on the forum for repair

    Yea I have watched a vid on it it seems simple enough, but I am correct in saying that I just need to buy the digitizer?

    You will also need the adhesive strips if the digitizer doesn't come with them

    make sure you are comfortable doing this repair as the tiniest mistake could get real expensive

    You can actually fix the scratch, there's a paste that can polish any scratches on the screen, costs a few bucks u can do it urself perfect for the iphone lol, i can look up the name of it if u want to
