iPhone 3G(s) Not Charging and Not Recognizing Charger Fix
Just thought I should share with ALL, that if your 3G or 3Gs is not recognizing charger Software is not the problem, and or anything that has to do with OS.
Dont try to reset all setting as this will not do anything for you, RECOVERY , DFU MODE, have nothing to do with it.
You have to replace USB Charger Data Port Flex.
I got it on eBay for total of $32, and i think it's easy to replace you can do it yourself without paying someone else to do it.
Be careful HOW YOU put your microphone back because if you block the little rubber that microphone goes inside you will not be heard on the other line.
What are the odds of that breaking REALLY?? Just in case you're wondering if your iphone is not responding to charger, it's time for new USB Charger Data Port Flex.

This isn't the fix for all phones. My 3g isnt recognized by the PC nor does it recognize when plugged into the charger. Although, it does charge, just doesnt show to be. I can let it die and then plug it in, and the lightning bolt will come up and the phone will turn on. Once in iPhone OS, it wont show charge status. I bought a new dock connector, which came with the new flex attached, and still the same problem.

You're problem is not connector, it's something else, not a specialist really on repairing iphone hardware as much I am on OS.
When my broke down when it dodnt want to charge and iphone didnt recognize the charger, i called this guy he rapirs iphones, he was straight up he said it's the connector, so i went and bought me one on ebay, and it fixed the problem.
I should know this, i took motherboard off, but camera was so hard to plug in, i put the iphone together and at the end, my camera didnt work, nor did my mic, but mic eas ocnnected i think the problem was really putting that rubber from mic into the little place where it goes.
So i took the iphone apart again, unscrewed camera, plugged it in the motherboard than put it all back together again.
