Default Dropped iPhone, now buttons dont work.
Hey Im buying an iphone 3g from a person who says that they dropped it and now the buttons dont work. Home, volume, sleep. Now Im thinking that the little connectors just came loose.
Do you think thats all that happened and it can just be reconnected or is it more likely to be something else??

Even if they didn't work at all, there are Sbsettings toggles for volume and sleep/power. There's also a 'virtual home button' too.

The connections for all these buttons are in different places. Home is on the dock and if #4 connection came of then u wouldn't have the sound and the phone wouldn't sync. And power and volume buttons are on the top they are related to #5 ribbon and if it came off too then ur headphones and vibro wouldn't work. So I believe u got mb problems

I would open it and inspect it prior to spending even a penny on it.

I feel so lucky. I get free water damaged iPhones from people in my school.
I got 3 Free 3G 8GBs with different problems from different people, they all work now. My 16GB 3G cost me 40$. My 2G 8GB someone gifted me. I've been in general lucky. Someone is going to give me a free 16GB 3G White soon.
I really have to get a picture of all of them. ATT is losing buckets of dollars on my family. I equipped my whole family with iPhones for less than 100$
iPhone 4, Yellow Custom Glass, 32GB, 4.3.3, non-working home button. And a prototype iPhone 4 White.
