Dead Home Button

I changed the case on my iPhone then when I put everything back, the home button stopped working! Everything else works and connector #4 is connected !! The home button is so important for an iPhone LOL

make sure the 2 hinge the screws screw on the #4 antenna assembly is ON TOP of the other 2 hinge that's connected to the chrome bezel.

If the hinge on the chrome bezel are above the hinge on #4 assembly, it wouldn't be making contact with the bottom part of the home button.

you have to tell me more what happened. Water damage? droped it? did you ever disassembled your phone? if so, did you ever take out speaker assembly that connects the #4 cable?

This thread makes me really sad I gave up on my first iphone 2g because of an identical problem cause by water damage

They are referring to a 3G or 3GS I believe in this thread. If the home button stops working on a 2G, then it requires the main Flex cable to be replaced.
