Where can I find this stuff...?

When I removed the glass screen on my phone, there was this black-foamy type adhesive around the edge of the glass. I am thinking it keeps out dust and water. When I removed the glass a lot of it was missing and now its not properly sealed. I was wondering if anyone knew where I can find some of this stuff?

do you really mean the seal that goes all around the display, and not some strips of adhesive tape on the sides? The seal is a very fragile ribbon of soft rubber that tends to separate from the display and is very easy to damage. If its that, then I think the only thing you can do is buy a replacement front panel where the seal is included. You can easily find some shops that sell them if you google for "iPhone 3g front panel".

If it is the adhesive type on the sides (which I believe is to avoid that light from the display shines through between the display & the bezel), than you can use any type of black duct tape or electrical tape.
