after replacing glass / digitizer, phone thinks headset is plugged in

I successfully replaced the digitizer / glass on my iphone 3G 2nd gen 8gig. HOWEVER, now the phone thinks my headset is on. So I can only hear sounds via the speaker and a headset.

I know this is common and I've tried all the availble solutions such as inserting the headphone jack in and out a million times, cotton swap, etc. Nothing is working

I'm wondering if is somehow did something to the headset censor while I was replacing my glass??? Is there a way to diagnose this issue further?? what is my next step?

try to do i restore on the phone maybe that will help realize there is no jack
