What I did do fix the problem is, and I STRESS, EVER SO GENTLY stick a VERY tiny flat head screw driver under the gold prongs coming from the top

    Default Home button works if pressed hard
    What I did do fix the problem is, and I STRESS, EVER SO GENTLY stick a VERY tiny flat head screw driver under the gold prongs coming from the top half assembly (mid chasis / digitizer / LCD etc.) and VERY VERY VERY GENTLY lift the screw driver blade up on the contact to SLIGHTLY bend the top half of the metal contact upwards. Do this to BOTH sides and make them even. BE CAREFUL. kthanks

    This is not a fix all solution for the home button but it worked for me. (and my home button operates very smoothly now). As always if your device is under warranty be smart and take it back...

    Yes this is a fix, but yuo have to be gentle or the prongs will snap.
