    Default 2G Logic board missing circular contact. [PIX]
    Hi everyone. Okay take a look at the 2G logic board below. Its missing the circular contact. The white wire needs to attach to this contact point. I was wondering, first, what is that wire used for? second, is it possible to strip the white wire and directly solder it to the logic board. you can see there are 4 squares. if i use enough solder, i am sure i can hit all 4 contact points and then just dip the wire in there and let it cool. what do you guys think? if not, im just gonna sell the logic board. i need it because the logic board that i have says no service. so i bought a new one but the guy ripped me off. anyways, let me know what i can do. thanks!!

    I am not 100% sure, but I believe those connect the cellular antenna to the logic board. I think in the past I have been able to get cell services with one of those white cables not plugged in.

    I would go ahead and try to re-assemble the phone as-is and see if it works, you may be pleasantly surprised.

    one goes to wifi and the other to you cell service. you can look for a new com board on ebay and replace it if it is your cell signal that wont plug in. the com board comes off the logic board pretty easy

    1.The missing contact point is the signal cable connector (Wifi), another (bottom) is for GSM.
    2.You may repair this, but you need proper equipment & skill to fix.
    3.The second connector (GSM) looks abit damage also on the side, you may not get the good/maximum signal (GSM) because of that.

    Solution :

    1. You may strip the white cable (long one for wifi) to direct connect (solder) to the board, there is 2 kind of wire inside the cable ;
    a) first layer (many wire) is connect to the contact point on the side (ground, left or right)
    b) the wire inside (signal carrier) connect to the contact point on the bottom (near the metal cover)

    2. You may replace with the new cable connector on the missing contact but the connector must a good one / original (has gold plate center) - or you may not get the good result / signal.

    3. You may send to me, i'll repair it for you.
    Also, If you have some iPhone (2G/3G/3GS) board any problem, maybe your friends - can ship together to repair, it's better for shipping cost.

    Hey goku2409,
    can i just solder the signal carrier on the board?
    is it important, to keep a special order or something like that while soldering the other cables?

    Sorry just get back to you..

    If really no socket connector, Signal carrier (GSM) or Wifi signal cable can be solder direct to the board, as i told you before, the signal connector is near the metal cover. both side (left & right) is the ground.
